The bees are tended by a local beekeeper (Roy of the Fawkham Bee Company). He and his family bottle and label all of their honey in house and are very proud that their honey never leaves the Sevenoaks District in its journey to the jar.
The bees gather nectar and pollen from the crops and wildflowers of the chalk downlands around Castle Farm. Beginning with the early fruit trees, the main sources thereafter include sycamore, lime, sweet chestnut, clover, blackberry, and rosebay willow herb. Smaller contributions come from hedgerows, roughs and scrub.
Grassland wildflowers such as dandelions, knapweeds, chicory, and the climber ivy are among the myriad floral sources that go into our rich honey.
